Tamron has finally joined the big boys and have added Image Stabilization to their lenses.
On July 30, 2008 Tamron announced two new lenses with HUGE zoom ranges, and both will have their new Image Stabilization called VC or Vibration Compensation.
Their first lens is a Tamron 28-300 mm f/3.5-6.3 XR Di VC.
Their second lens is a Tamron 18-270 mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC.
Tamron seems to be stepping it up. To be honest I didn't like their lenses before. I have a 28-200 mm f/3.5-6.3 and it really felt like cheap plastic. It was very light weight, had lots of zoom creep, and it wasn't very good and wasn't very sharp. But, I sucked it up and purchased their 17-50 mm f/2.8 and I've been very happy with it so far. I would love to try out these lenses. But now when will they develop a SWM, HSM, or USM type auto focus motor?
