July 30, 2008 - These pictures were taken at the bottom of the Surrey side of the Port Mann Bridge. We parked at 116A Ave and Surrey Rd, and walked in through the CNR gated area. We asked if we could shoot there, and the man said it was okay as long as we stay off the tracks, which we did. No trespassing.
This was actually kind of disappointing. You can read about my blog to understand what happened. It was also too hard to get the proper exposure. Exposing stuff on the ground properly equaled a white sky. Exposing for a blue sky left you with very dark subjects on the ground. I guess I could invest in a good filter to account for that, but I dont' have it. Unfortunately, I also realized afterwards that I was shooting at ISO800 which caused grain in my pictures, especially when bumping up the brightness in my dark foreground. Oh well. I'm learning, as we all are.
