Giottos Rocket Air Blower Review

This is one of the products that every SLR or dSLR photographer should have. Giottos Rocket-Air blower is a must have accessory that you can use to clean and blow dust out of your camera's body, lenses, and even your keyboards. The rocket comes in three sizes and a variety of colors now.

The Rocket's are made out of an environmentally-friendly rubber. Basically you just squeeze the rocket and a powerful burst of air will come out of the plastic tip at the top. When you release your grip, the valve in the bottom will refill the rocket with more air, ready for another burst. Being that its not an aerosol and that it's completely driven by your own power, it is safe for the environment and you camera, and you will never have to buy another canister. You can even use this to clean your computers and keyboards and practically anything you would use those Dust-Off aerosol air canisters for.

At my recent trip to Dunne & Rundle I saw a similar looking blower, but had no fins. The great thing about Giottos rocket is that it is shaped like a rocket, so it has fins that allow the blower to stand straight up! It won't lie on its side and roll away. The rockets all cost about $15 and is a great investment.

What I suggest is purchasing two. A large one for your home use, and a small one that you can easily stuff into your bag for when you go on your travels or photo walks. It's a very wise purchase for those who switch lenses all the time, letting dust and other debris into the interior of the body, sensor and lens.

You can even purchase cleaning kits, which is what I did. The cleaning kits come with soft "q-tips", cleaning solution, and a small blower. To save money, try purchasing them on ebay. I thing I got my Large blower for $10, and my kit for $10 as well.

I've had my rockets for over a year now, and they are still in the same shape as they were when I got them. They haven't been distorted, and I haven't noticed reduced performance.
